This shit really brings out the beast in me. Knowing my (high) school we'll probably be standing up and rattling that whole thing off at noon. Earlier in the year we had a great big school-wide patriotic camp meeting lead by a WWII vet with one arm. It was right after 9/11 and those who did get up and sing god bless america were unofficially shunned for a couple of days. This should prove interesting to say the least.

Stickers for Prayer Warriors
Looking for the perfect companion for a local National Day of Prayer event or a church prayer gathering?
These I Prayed Stickers let the world know where your priorities are. These colorful decals are an eye-catching way to provoke conversation and promote a NDP event or a prayer-related activity at your church.
Hmmm. This calls for tee shirts all around: "I prayed and all I got was this lousy tee shirt."

I was actually wondering this morning if they put it on May 2 in order to counter all the "godless commie pinko leftist" stuff that goes on May 1.

Dear Jesus,

Thank you for all of the blessings you've bestowed on us as a nation. Please get rid of everything that doesn't conform to the teachings of my particular faith.

And please bless the UK, and South Korea, and Pervez Musharraf, and our brave drug-warriors-cum-military combatants fighting the FARC in Columbia, and please keep the heathen evolutionist-nihilists out of our schools.

Amen

QB]
How about "I prayed and the Twin Towers are still piles of smoking rubble."

The legislation establishing the NDP calls for it to be the first Thursday in May, so this is entirely a coincidence. But the human brain seeks out patterns.

Besides, how much godless commie pinko leftist stuff goes on May 1 in this country? Am I missing out on something?

It isn't a big deal in the USA anymore, but it started here. On May 1st, 1886, labor leaders began a march in Chicago to support the 8-hour workday. The rally continued for a couple of days until the police arrived, attempting to disperse the crowd. Somebody threw a bomb, and police opened fire. Four demonstrators were killed, as were eight cops. It became known as the Haymarket Massacre.

May 1st became known as International Workers Day, and Communists seized it as a special holiday (you might say it was a red-letter day ).
