That JohnR7 guy is a riot. Does he really think that if he gets a little more holy god will give him the winning lottery numbers?

JohnR7 is a nutjob. He once made a claim that he and his church prayed so hard that they were able to resurrect a friend of theirs - who then got all pissed off because they were interrupting the fun he was having in heaven.

Lately he said that science can't be trusted because it is scientists that say aliens populated the Earth and they've successfully cloned a baby girl.

Rufus, you are kicking ass on that forum. I really enjoy your posts. You do a fabulous job of expaining evolution in simple enough terms for even a fundy to understand.

I don't know.

But I'd agree that DNA isn't the whole truth. Just look at all the lies we tell to people just so that we can tell them the 'real' truth later on. Isn't a lot of our early schooling based on that?

Are you suggesting that the scientists know something, but are keeping it from us until we are older? Or is that just some sort of metaphor?

If you want to know whether there is more to the development of an organism than "just" DNA, talk to PZ. He just can't stop talking about it.

He doesn't like smilies either. :boohoo:

Can too.

Besides, emphasizing the importance of epigenetic factors is not the same as denying the importance of DNA.

That's right. They're simple-minded shorthand for the lazy and illiterate.

So the whole not bearing false witness thing doesn't cover stealing stories from TV shows (Buffy, in this case) and claiming them as your own?

Blessings are like cash on CF. You earn 7 blessings for each thread you start and mods/admins can increase your total. Other users can give you some of their total. With it you can by armor of god to show how popular you are. I used to have more, but I gave them away so I could have 1337 blessings.

Thanx I try hard. Explaining things to fundies who are antagonistic to them is a great exercise in education. I feel that my time addressing creationist misconceptions will pay off in the end when I find my self teaching freshman biology in the bible belt.
