If a god or gods made me into a god, then I would believe in the existence of gods. However, how would I know that I was fully a god (whatever that means), and how would I know that I wasnt being mentally deceived or deluded in one way or another? Therefore, I could never believe conclusively that any entity was a god without my mind being forcibly altered in some way. The most I could ever believe is that a being is very powerful relative to myself. This would not entail (without suitable, and similarly impossible-to-produce evidence) any morals from said being(s), worship of said being(s) (at least not without being threatened, in which case I may choose to take my own life instead), belief that I will live forever (the word afterlife is just a clever way of saying that there is no death, as death is the absence of life, and in the afterlife you are supposedly alive), belief that said being(s) created the fabric of reality and everything contained therein, belief in an otherly, supernatural realm, or anything else. Of course, I have no idea what the word god is supposed to mean. If it is defined as a chocolate-covered cherry, then I believe in many gods, some of which I have ingested.

Yes, it is emotional, not logical - then again - You cannot really apply logic to emotions such as love, hate, jealousy, et.al. Shadowy Man: If u were reading the previous posts, or even just the statement to which my reply was specifically addressed, u won't ask what my reply was for. |
