Talking Therefore God has marvelously proved His existence to us.

Proof by the Way St Gemma was tormented by Devils.

Yes! Its absolutely, clearly and incontrovertibly true that St Gemma was tormented by Devils. His Holiness the Pope has said so. And no Roman Catholic may deny what the Pope said infallibly.

Quote:
That abominable beast will be the end of our dear Gemma- deafening blows, forms of ferocious animals, etc.- I came away from her with tears because the demon is wearing her out.
The rubbish comes from this link.

Yes, the Devil even reigned physical blows on her fragile body. We may not contradict the Pope! Therefore the Devil simply must exist. And God must exist too.

Yes, the Devil even reigned physical blows on her fragile body. Therefore celebate Priests, Monks, Nuns etc (who are denied a more normal sexual outlet) can get a few thrills by contemplating the Devil reigning blows onto the body of nubile young St Gemma.

I'm not sure I care for a thread solely for the purpose of mocking another member. This belongs Elsewhere.

If I just landed here from another planet and never heard of the Catholic church I would probably think that link was a joke.

I do have to say that this Gemma chick was kinda hot.

And she`s got that crazy look in her eyes that usually means you`re in for some good humping!

St. Gemma was beautiful indeed and very devout. I found her story interesting. I particularly enjoyed reading about her relationship with her angel.

This blessed death happened on Holy Saturday April 11th, 1903 when Gemma Galgani was in her 25th year.
That is so terribly sad.

A crime that she sought out an imaginary healer when the real thing was available.

Viaticum, indeed.

A relationship with a doctor and a good antacid was all she probably needed.

That's still a person you're talking about, who's probably held in high esteem by some theist posters here. You're entitled to freely speak your mind off course, but I don't think not believing in certain things makes it right to be anti-socially obnoxious.

I wonder if any of her 7 siblings went into church service...I'll have to ask Gemma Therese...

On that photo page I liked that quilt she made along with other relics of hers.

Look at it this way. If St. Gemma is really a saint, she's far beyond caring, and probably looks on the guy with a certain pity. If not, she doesn't care.

As to the rest of us... We can each form our own opinions on whether the joke justified the tastelessness, and form opinions of the poster. Such is justice.

~~Elsewhere~~

For religion related topics of little philosophical importance and/or topics moved from other forums due to a lack of serious "content."

Irreverent is not socially obnoxious ~ and my only regret, of course, is that I did not post that first.
