I'm Gonna Be (500 miles song) - The Pretenders

Quote:
But I would walk five hundred miles

And I would walk five hundred more

Just to be the man who walked a thousand miles

To fall down at your door

Dahdahdah dah-dah!
Dahdahdah dah-dah!
Dahdahdah dah-dah!
Dahdahdah dah-dah!

You are an obsession...you're my obsession...who do I want you to be, to make you sleep with me?

I need you, I need you, by day and by night...

I will have you!
Yes I will have you!
I will find a way
And I will have you!

Like a butterfly
A wild butterfly
I will posess you
And capture you!

I think you might be confused. Yes had at least one album in the 70s, Tales from Topographic Oceans from 1974. The earliest release for the Buggles appears to be 1980's Age of Plastic.

No. That song wasn't great. It was awful and now that it's been mentioned it will remain stuck in my head like a malignant tumor for at least 48 hours.

Try to find the punkish version done by Down By Law. It's groovy.

Anyone remember the song, "Winchester Cathedral" from 1968? The singer used a megaphone a la Rudy Vallee. The name of the group escapes me, it was a typically weird name of the psycedelic era. No, it is not a fond memory, it was a bad novelty song but was a definite "hit" for about three weeks...
