In one of his articles, JP Holding makes the argument that all mentions of the "Last days" in the bible refer to the passing of the Old Covenant(The Law) and a replacement with the Kingdom of Heaven, which is on Earth already in the Church. However there seem to be significant problems with this:
-The "Law" has not really passed away...it is still practiced in Judaism, although not entirely the way it was thousands of years ago. -Paul's letters were primarily aimed toward Gentile Christians, and not Messianic Jewish people to who the term would make more sense. -Many sections in the bible refer to an Old Earth and Old Heaven soon to "pass away" presumabely by fire and then be recreated in a new messianic age. So the Messianic age would not start until the *whole universe* was gone, not just the removal of the Old Covenant. -The New Covenant, according to Jerimiah 31, still contains the Law. |
