That 'guy' was Horribly, Tragically and Cruelly Lying To You...

Real Life Example:

***Having had to 'help' my daughter's mommy Numerous Times with her Blocked Ducts, Raw/Bloody Nipples, Bruised Areoles, Metastisized Occlusions, Random Infections and Endless Griping -Considering the majority of this 'help' consisted of ME sucking REALLY HARD, in a profoundly Non-Sexual Way - on my EX-WIFE's TITS, to UNPLUG them!!!!! - Noooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!

Trust me, the idea of adding Complications from 'piercing' (you just know that they are inevitable) on top of ALL THAT...

NO FUCKING WAY!
Does that "real life example" actually have anything to do with nipple piercings, or was it just an example of the horrors of breast feeding? It is not clear that you have any idea what effect nipple piercings have on breast feeding. Complications that might affect breast feeding (such as sever scarring) are not inevitable, and are in fact extremely unlikely.

Common Medical/Societal Complications from Piercing:

Constant , Incurable Infections (flesh eating bacteria, anyone?)
Life-Long Nerve Damage ("Gee, I can't taste anything - FOREVER!)
Permanent Scarring ("Gosh, that HOLE in your face is really cute!")
Excruciating Painful Hindsight (see Johnny Depp)
Dealing with Metal Detectors (9-11)
Encountering Powerful Magnets in Public (FUCKING EUROPEANS)
Coitus Interruptus (I will NOT fuck a pierced ho, period!)
*shrugs* Nothing in life is without risk, but flesh eating bacteria? Hepatis B might be a concern with improper procedures, but bringing up flesh eating bacteria is just silly. Yes, nerve damage is a possibility with certain piercings, but again that is really a matter of going to someone who knows what they are doing. Having someone's name tattooed on your body is just
stupid and good artists won't do it. There might be a little hassle at metal detectors, but who cares? Magnets?

Or were you joking?

Ahh, now I'm with you. Some people do that over here, too.

I have an arm band tattooed on my left arm below my elbow. I have an ankh/dagger tattooed on the inside of my right arm. I have had my tongue pierced, used to wear a 10 gauge there, my eyebrow pierced. my left ear and my right ear. In highschool, I did pierce my left nipple for the hell of it. But after awhile I took the jewelry out. I found that it got caught on my shirts and what not. a pain in the ass.

I no longer wear the jewelry, because the company I work for frowns on piercings. but I do not regret ever being peirced or tattooed. Everything that I had done looked good. I plan to get more tattoos above the dreaded short shirtsleeve line in the future. I am thinking about the back of my neck.

anyway. I just dont see any reason to rant and bitch about what people choose to do to make their own bodies more aesethetically(sp?) pleasing.

Everytime I look at a pierced person, I must turn away in open revulsion. So fucking horrid and disgusting do they look, I can only attribute the absurdity of their 'choice' to Severe Adolescent Brain Trauma. Or, possibly, they were raised by Fundie ReFucklicans, i.e. - A profound Ignorance of Right and Wrong being the inevitable result.

So, do you feel this way about pierced ears on women, or is it just the more unusual piercings that bother you? I can understand you not liking piercings, but your apparent inability to accept that other people have a different perspective on the subject is somewhat strange. Personally, I cannot stand most country music, but I accept that other people enjoy it without calling them crazy. Perhaps your reaction to piercings is just so extreme that such acceptance is not possible, but in that case it seems to me that you are the strange one here.

Unless you acknowedge that the same is true of everyone else from their own perspective, I am going to have to conclude that your grip on reality is somewhat tenuous and abandon all hope of ever having a rational discussion.

Just playin' devil's advocate with glee, don't take it too hard... My actual convictions don't go quite so far as my over-the-top (and, obligatory?) rantings.

And, yes, I do find jewelry of all sorts to be tacky. Hence, as usual, my opinions seem to lie far to the unknown fringe of most 'humans'. What can I say? Diamonds, gold, 'precious metals', sparkly/shiny things - I can do without the Entire Lot! I ain't a Crow, after all. Hell - Wearing a watch causes me discomfort, bland as it may be. But, that's me. Clearly from the people around me (Imagine: Boulder, Colorado - Enough Gross Weight of Piercing to Sink a Ship!), I remain a 'silent' minority.

(***Additionally: Considering this place has an amazingly copious gaggle of the most gorgeous women I have EVER seen, EVER!!! - many pierced {unfortunately} - I doubt I would really kick one of them out of bed...)

I don't like crossing words with you tron - it benefits neither of us. I would never judge YOU personally on your obvious enjoyment of The Dermal Arts. It is NOT my business, on a human-to-human basis, I do admit.

Besides -

Considering that this topic was to moved to an 'elsewhere' forum - I figured that this --- ---- was immediately implied in ALL posts.

I will now resume my search for a few non-vain, non-pierced, but dead, earth gods who can satisfy me, sexually.

*chuckle* No, a playful wink is not implied simply because this is "elsewhere", but I didn't think you were actually quite so over the top as those last couple posts seemed to indicate. I am not a big fan of diamonds or gold myself, and prefer stainless steel, silver, and titanium (there is a set of titanium stuff I would love to own - chain, bracelets, rings, etc.)

The local Tatoo and Piercing parlor has this as it's motto.
Treat your hide with pride!

Not to burst anyone's bubble (I'm sure I won't), but I have to agree with blame_the_gods...most body piercings are absolutely revolting. I really don't see what is attractive in someone who has metal stapled through their flesh. Yeehaw.
