![]() And as for wars - so what? Wars seem to be an unavoidable part of human society. There have been something like 3 days in the past 1000 years where there have been no fighting anywhere in the world. |

I have a theory about the end times. It will be pretty clear when the end is near. The sign is the Boston Red Sox and the Chicago Cubs meeting in the World Series. Once one of those teams wins, the earth will be destroyed. It's a good thing that won't happen for quite a while.

But not the Age of Grace. God revealed it to Paul as a mystery. "We shall not all sleep" No snide remarks. No funnin'. I would like to know how you explain it. That's all. Two thousand years of human history ignored by the most historical religion on Earth. I don't get it. Thanks. JT |

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Originally posted by JTVrocher Magus, can I ask a question that, even as a Bible college student I never got a clear answer on. The entire life of Christ was foretold in the OT. Birth place. Virgin birth. Death, even that he would be pierced. Resurrection. All of it. But not the Age of Grace. God revealed it to Paul as a mystery. "We shall not all sleep" No snide remarks. No funnin'. I would like to know how you explain it. That's all. Two thousand years of human history ignored by the most historical religion on Earth. I don't get it. Thanks. JT -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm confused about what you mean. Are you asking why the Bible wasn't continued up until today? If so, probably because there is no need to. The Age of Grace is just that, the time when we have to trust Jesus and put our faith in His sacrifice and ressurection. What I don't understand is this. God placed in the Bible prophesies which point to the Messiah in such detailed ways that some would be able to recognize him from the prophesies alone. How could it be that no prophesy was given which foretold Christ's ascension and the time frame reguired for his return. I know what the Age of Grace is. What I don't understand is why there is no Age of Grace prophesy in the OT? Christians are quick to use prophesy as proof that the Bible is Gods' word yet they can't account for the last two thousand years of human history except as a mystery revealed to a man who never know the man Jesus. This is one of the things that began my journey out of theism. I came to see that the Age of Grace is a theological trompe l'oeil. It is a false doctrine created by Paul to explain why Christ left and did not return as he said he would. As they all thought he would. I ask this one thing. Show me a prophesy of the Age of Grace. The imagery is quite startling. Caucasians bring HORSES to the new world and DECEIVE natives into seeming like they will trade, but instead they SLAUGHTER. They also bring with them DISEASE which makes more destruction than even the guns... WARS increase... Hmmm. Are Christians perhaps concerned that the rapture has ALREADY occured and they weren't part of it? Makes one wonder. Very deeply, I would think. |
