Speaking of Badfish, just had a fun conversation with him. Apparently all of us non believers lack morals because we are unbelievers, yet when you quote jesus to him, he goes off on you as well.
Some of those people over there really need to reread their own bible, as they seem to have forgotten jesus or something, as if Jesus was alive today, I could see him smacking around some of his believers a bit.

Personally though I think some fundy views are possibly signs of deeper phsycological problems that the person is repressing, but thats just my view, it would be interesting to write something on it.

And Zaddok, you just have to laugh at follower of Christ, just wait, as soon as he thinks he is cornered he will come up with some half attempt to insult you to try and change the subject.

Just a few general comments:

1. A "public warning" in a thread is almost always a response to a thread where several people have started crossing lines, and I think the idea is that they've decided it'd be more fair to remind everyone than to try to decide which people get warnings. If a specific user is called out, it's still one step short of an official warning - but also serves notice to others that it's a good time to look at reporting future harassment from that user.
2. Lanakila is one of the mods who *does* warn fundies some of the time; she's not the most biased person out there. She may not be 100% fair, but it's not because she's not trying. She's been known to stick up for the various heathens.

I do agree that the predominance of fundies is causing some problems for the mod staff; unfortunately, there just aren't that many people who would be good moderators, and fewer who are willing to put in the time. (One of the contributing factors to my current non-mod status is that I'm too busy.)

Just tried. It's still down.

Of course they may be using the The Acme Atheist/Liberal Christian filter.

Needless to say it was the person that started the thread about people hating Christians that started to get all bent out of shape and calling people trolls and all that. The thread is gone now because your friend Lanakila stepped in and smoked it. Damn Christians you can dress 'em up but you can't take 'em out. (Many of them over there are pretty cool too of course, but you know that already.)
Kristen started a "we're supposed to be persecuted, Jesus said so" thread. It was quickly pointed out to her by Humanista that Christians are an overwhelming majority in the US. There was a link supporting the "overwhelming majority" claim. Kristen's response was that this thread (the CF Outcasts) and the very fact that someone was questioning her OP were clear indications of persecution.

Humanista, myself, and a couple of others requested an explanation of exactly how the overwhelming majority could be subject to persecution.

That was the last I saw of the thread. I stepped away for a bit, and when I came back, it had been blown away. I figured it was because Kristen's assertion was so completely refuted, and CF just can't have that kind of "propaganda" - that a majority can't be persecuted - spread on their board.

Yeah yeah that's the ticket.

"We're going to be persecuted! Jesus said so!"

"Um ... Christians run this country. Just the other day I heard the president on national TV praising Jesus Christ. Besides, 80% of Americans are Christians. So don't be silly."

"See! She's persecuting me! Praise Jesus!"

Sad.

Well you figured wrong. I posted that thread to show people that Jesus said Christians would be hated, it's prophecy, you see it all over the world and it will get worse. I didn't have time to show references because my thread was shut down. It was shut down because I mentioned this thread. I could of had it put back but asked not to. I never got bent out of shape, I didn't call anybody a troll, I told a poster, I forget his name "I didn't create this thread for you to troll it", because that was what he was doing.

It's amazing how you all turn every situation into what you want it to be and make yourselves look "cool" and try to make others look stupid. Don't you have better things to do? I can't believe I start an thread at CHRISTIAN FORUMS and it turns into a little teenie bopper gossip session over here.

Can I ask that if I don't do anything directly to hurt you that you do not mention mine or my husbands name in this thread to hurt us? I don't talk smack about you, have the same respect for me and my family. And please get your facts straight before you publically try to trash me, that ain't cool at all.

What's funny is that, in fact, the way a lot of fundies treat other Christians is a very close match to what the Bible *actually* says about Christians being persecuted.

What I am wondering is how you can say all fundies are like you say they are. How can you group us all together and say we are all bad? Just because of a few on Christian Forums? That isn't fair.

That's always struck me as sort of a delusions of grandeur thing.
