If Frist was an honest, upright person, there would be no "catch." Catch 22 involves someone placed into a situation not of their own doing and then not giving them a way out. Frist lied *himself* into that situation.

Again, did Frist illegally obtain drugs to anesthtatize/euthanize those animals? If not, how did those animals end up dead?

Don't worry this torture of small animals is just indicative of sociopathlogy.

If this story is true, I really hope the media takes good notice at some point...

The only worthwhile news program on television, the Daily Show, made it the focus of their opening segment this evening.

There is no law against disecting a cat. I can buy one today just for that purpose, there are some regulations on how I must treat the animal but thats it. None of these laws were in effect when Frist did this, let alone any animal rights BS.
The article was not about the issue of vivisection. It was about the fact that the senator admitted he committed a fraud to obtain something of value and that he is an admitted liar.

In every state that I have ever worked in there are statutes against obtaining any thing of value by fraud and deception.

Animals for vivisection can be purchased from medical supply facilities and these animals have a certain retail value. By lying to the shelters the senator avoided paying the retail value for the animals and therefore profited from his deception by avoiding paying the retail price.

Theft by deception is fraud.

There is also an issue of parity here.

Most of the people who are reading this post would place their liberty in jeopardy by committing a fraud. There are obvious exceptions made for the O J Simpson's, Richard Nixon's and Bill Frist's in our society.

If the value of the animals that he obtained by fraud was nominal then the senator is guilty of a misdemeanor, which places him the same category as a shoplifter.

If the value was substantial (defined in many states as more than $ 100.00) then the act rises to the level of a felony.

Of course we need as many felons as we can get in the congress.

We do have the best politicians that money can buy.

I don't have his biorgraphy at hand, does anyone have a reliable online source?
Here's one, that is, if you consider CNSnews to be reliable. I've never heard of them, though.
