I am glad that you and MrDarwin patched things up in the end, but I am curious as to your answer to this question. I am not certain that you answered it. I understand that you might still be deciding what your leanings on the evo/cre debate are, so please do not be insulted when I ask: Is the above synopsis by MrDarwin correct, and if not, how is it incorrect? Because I just stood up to my Pastor on other church members on the issue and wasn't swayed. That proves I have a spine and that my beliefs and views of the world do not blow with the wind.
Since I am a Baptist, I believe that everyone must be convinced of the truth in their own mind. I will not be convinced again of a literal 6 day creation unless it is presented with compelling scientific evidence and evidence from the Bible that everything is to be taken literally, such as language that seems to say that the Earth is flat and that the sun revolves around it. Since Gish, Ham and Hovinds arguements don't convince me I am sure there is no evidence to be presented by any of the people of my church who are far less knowledgable of Science. Not that We don't agree on the main doctrines of conservative Christianity. |

I was under the impression that they were merely knowledgeable about what looked reasonable to those who want to believe/don't know much about it. |
