McDonalds food isn't all that bad usually (for what I'd expect), sometimes you get a disgusting offering though. I avoid it because of the health reasons and because it isn't all that cheap as far as I'm concerned(when I do decide to get a fast burger I go with a Burger King Whopper, it's actually a decent sandwich, better than the competition, and I can get one for 99 Canadian cents in the evening).
As for McD's suing a food critic? Sounds like they're just trying to intimidate people. That's wrong. Of course, I do wonder why a food critic would bother with McDonalds (unless they were doing a series or an article comparing various fast food places), and I wonder why McDonalds thinks their customer base consults cuisine reviews... And anyway, doesn't Italy have "Burgeys" ? It's a rip off chain, with a B a lot like the golden arches, and very similiar food but cheaper. Why eat at McDonald's at all? |

What did they expect? Five stars? Go figure.
I can't even imagine why McDonalds would think it is in their interest to bring a suit like that? |

True, but corporate behavior isn't always rational. It wasn't really in McDonald's interest to bring the "McLibel" suit in England a few years back, either, but they did. A couple of possibilities that occur to me: 1) this is a variation on a SLAPP, 2) McDonald's corporate culture promotes a bullying mentality. If people aren't familiar with the McLibel case, I'd recommend tracking down a book titled McLibel: Burger Culture on Trial by John Vidal. Mark |

I avoid McDonalds... besidse the McChicken sandwich, I don't like it. I don't find it as fiendishly disgusting as most of you do, but its not too good.
Wendy's is quite good- I believe the burgers are thicker, and the lettuce is always fresh. And the fries are better.\ Burger King is edible but nothing special, except the fries, i LOVE the fries. Winner? Taco Bell. |

![]() Funnily enough, the taste of the big mac can be convincingly recreated with a cheap generic hamburger bun, a smidgen of ground beef, a spread of mayo with a bit of 1000 Isle dressing, a kraft single, and a huge load of iceberg lettuce. I'm not sure why anyone would want to, but someone showed me once. |
