This is the first I have heard of TNA which seems to be a precursor to RNA and DNA.

The article from New Scientist

I am assuming that TNA brings us one step closer to solving abiogenisis. Although this is not stated in the article, that's my take on it.

Is this exciting or old news? Not that I want to be an expert on the subject, I am just curious what the scientific community position is on TNA.

Well, I can't speak for the scientific community, but I suspect their position is that they like TnA. Most guys do, and most scientific types are guys, it seems.
