When I found myself, about 3 years ago, dying pretty slowly in a hospital, the thought of God/dess never really crossed my mind.

He/She was not there.

Neither was She/He anywhere around at my gang rape and near murder.

However, I was there alright.

It helped me to form certain notions which are being confirmed daily, and especially with the help of the incredible (literally!) people of Internet Infidels (also the JREF forum, gotta get a promotion in here!).

If Goddess/God appeared to me suddenly, I'm pretty sure that I just wouldn't belive it.
The dying(or living) brain comes up with some pretty stunning tricks, as I know-this would just have to be another one.
