Despite Hovind's claims, there is no such thing as "cosmic evolution." Only chemical and physical reactions. Evolution is a biological principle, not a chemical or physical one.

callmejay, well you apprehensions about whether memes exhibit evolution-like change is a matter of how you define evolution outside of its usual meaning in the biological sciences. As I've said above, non-biological evolutionary systems can be non-(neo)darwinian, that is, it does not have to be an unguided, gradual, incremental change with active selection pressures. It could be lamarckian, saltational, teleological, etc. Heck, manuscripts, in my ignorant opinion, exhibits prolonged stasis, punctuated by sudden macroevolutionary change.
