Bump. It's the last few days and time for the final push.

Only 3 days left to cast your vote for http://www.talkorigins.org as Cool Site of the Month. T.o. led for much of the month, but another site staged a campaign to get votes and took the lead.

However, we should do a last push to put t.o. over the top. Earlier today we were behind by 150 votes, but now it is under 100. Pass the word to all the t.o. fans out there on UBBs and mailing lists who will be plinking around on the internet during the slow parts of Thanksgiving weekend.

Voting requires an email address (bogus if you like) and an IP address that hasn't already voted this month. Here is the link to the voting page:

http://www.coolsiteoftheday.com/csotm.html

The winning site gets put in for Cool Site of Year, and even being in the running for that is good publicity.

Hey, I just had an idea...

I presume there are a significant number of II posters who post on other boards in the IIDB but don't check evolution regularly. I'm an exclusive evo board guy but perhaps it would be appropriate for others to spread the word on the other boards also?

Use a real email address. 1) Obvious fake email addresses are likely to be excluded at the end of the month. 2) It would not surprise me if they send an email at the end of the month to filter out fake addresses via bounces. It is something I would do in their place. 3) It will not result in spamming. 4) Even if you don't believe that it is simple enough to make an email box for dealing with commercial organizations. Virtually every ISP gives customers multiple email boxes plus several varieties of web based email like Hotmail.

Question

Hey would the moderators mind if we went ahead and advertised this on all of the forums at II just for the next day? There has to be 80-100 posters here on a regular basis, right?

bump.

I support this suggestion, although I'm not a mod or anything.

T.o. is down by 95 votes currently. There is a suspicious trend whereby everytime t.o. gains 50 or so votes, kontraband.com increases its total to match almost exactly.

I voted a few days ago - you only have a handful of hours left till the end of the month, so why not post this into general religious discussions, rants raves, etc and media - they seem to be pretty high in traffic. I'm not a mod, so might get into trouble for the seuggestion - but that's ok - i'm used to being in trouble. just blame me.
