I would like to point out that teen girls, such as myself, also have easy access to porn.

Part of my concern with this easy access to hard-core porn by teens is that I see an awful lot of single people out there who aren't making the connections they thought they would. While I'm not placing all the blame on internet porn for these lack of connections (I have some other "hunches") I don't think it's helping. It's one thing to use porn for a little spice in life, but another if it's the main entree on a frequent basis. Is that more likely to happen if a person has repeated exposure when the brain is still growing? I don't think we can say from what we know, but as I've said, I do have my concerns. |

All teans I know, including myself, who use porn know very well that it is unrealistic, and don't use it as expectations for relationship or sex.
As for difficulty relating with the sex the person desired due to porn, I haven't seen it happen. I have good male friends (the majority of which use porn); the porn using guys I know have good female friends. In fact, if anything, there's less fights/arguments between my male friends and female friends than between my female friends alone; porn-using has no effect on this. I hope I'm making sense. Unless you abuse it, or don't see that it is unrealistic, I don't see how it could affect relationships. |

the down side is that so much is lousy quality. oh, and on the relationship issue - if you are dating, get the chick's feeling. some are twitchy. |

I reckon a teenage boy would have to be trying pretty damn hard NOT to see porn on the net these days. I remember back in the day when I was in my teens, and I had my first exposure to the net. I had absolutely zero net experience or savvy, but pretty much the first thing I did as soon as my mum left was to type in porn dot com, and there I was. It was awful quality, and there was only a few samples, but hey, this was porn-on-demand and I wasn't picky.
And if you're looking for teenager-related websites on a search engine and you type in 'teen (whatever)', you're probably not going to get a result that isn't porn for at least the first ten pages. Add to that the miles of porn spam you get in a hotmail account, both from spammers and altruistic friends, the thousands of porn popups and banners you see all over sites these days, and the random people who spam porn links on instant messengers. And it's not exactly porn, but anyone who gets through their teenage years without getting sent to goatse at some point is amazingly lucky. Granted, figuring out how to find the quality stuff without paying takes a little longer, but when all your friends share a common interest (and they did), it doesn't take long. |
