Anyone have any thoughts or comments about public officials who own or have large stock in voting machine companies? (and in the case of Senator Chuck Hagel, employ the presidents of such companies to run campaigns for them ...i.e.- president of the company which owns and makes the voting machines and software also works for the Senator and tries to get him elected)

My sister-in-law (a swing voter in Louisiana) determined to vote for Landrieu in the last senatorial runoff election.
She says she is positive she carefully chose the Democrat ballot but was surprised to look down to see the computer had marked an "X" in the Republican box. When she tried to reset it she could not. She called over an election official who helped her reset it, but not before commenting, "That's happened several times today." Dallas, Texas also reported having quirky problems during the last election. Seems it was discovered that everyone who voted early had their vote cast for a Republican. Question: Why should any computer software program be written to "preset" a ballot to either candidate????? Sojourner |
