Interesting thread, I'll need time(!) to absorb the various viewpoints.

My position now(!) is that "time" is what we call the fact that material reality is changing. "Now" is the current state of things, including all the forces which are actually causing the changes.

So in this view, the "past" does not exist (except as memory) and the "future" does not exist (except as potential). I suppose both A-theory and B-theory (which I haven't studied yet(!)) are partly right. Throw in John's R-theory, simmer a while(!), and maybe we're getting close?
