Since Douglas has finally decided to once again grace us with his wisdom in the formal debate, I thought I'd *bump* this thread back up. In addition, I wanted to remind him that his question on feathers has already been addressed in the old Scigirl-Douglas Debate thread.

Did we ever get him to define the uncrossable boundaries of a 'kind'? I'd have thought that's at the heart of the question.

What I find very interesting is that Douglas is quick to point out that scigirl is "avoiding" "important points," but he never seems to get around to addressing *hers*. I mean, in "column inches" alone, scigirl is clearly the leader here. And, her content shines (this latest bird feather analysis ... ).

Sigh. Looks like another engrossing debate killed in the middle by a non-participant. Say, scigirl, could you keep posting your side anyway? I was well on my way to that free evolutionary science degree ...

Don't be too hard on Douglas. As I recall, he was pretty blown away by the information that some species reproduce asexually. This was a mismatch from the get-go.
