wow, is this a cultural thing? i phoned the lady who handles booking for Lee's Palace in toronto and she says, "you're american, aren't you?" then she explains to me how you need a work permit to play in canada, adding "there's a Border / it's a different country." she said it would cost $450 to sort out with *yikes* Canadian Lawyers, but that's horsesh_t: if you have AFM affiliation, it can be handled for only 50. am i saying that canadians are rude? heavens no: i later discovered that she'd spent much of the 90's doing booking in New York (site of the world's most demented Doublemint commercial).

Getting this thread back on topic, there is a poll about the removal of the bible classes at this station's page. Be fair: Tennessee residents only... and, uh... me. It's 81% against the judge's ruling thus far so needs some votes.

Welcome to the boards. Please try to stay on topic, but anyone who knows how Scientologists track their opponents probably has something to contribute here! I gather that: 1. you think that Freethought is a religious system. and 2. you are a working (is that the correct term?) musician trying to promote your band. As for point 1, I'm not sure why you bring it up. Dan Barker does not go around to public schools and put on shows for the kids to show them that religion is bogus. The Humanist Manifesto is not drilled into the schoolchildren's heads. (More's the pity!) I think you can find other threads in other forums about whether atheism qualifies as a religion. The usual response is that if atheism is a religion, baldness is a hair style. As for point 2, this is not the time or place. Certainly the typical reader of this forum is not a likely patron of an establishment known as The Barking Spider. I would be interested, however, in hearing you expand on Freemasonry as the Western expression of Sufi, or explain which Skeptic talks about tri-racial isolates?? |
