I thought it was great as well. I was a bit suprised at how many boos there were. I knew he would say something if he won, I saw a clip of him the other day where he basically said just because we were at war, people at the Oscars still had free speech.

Adrien Brody's acceptance speech was incredibly touching, as well.
It seems to me that the boos Moore got were for his timing, not for his message. |

I see that Barbra Streisand just came on. I'm sure she'll say something too. For some reason I'm not so excited about that. Is Rosie O'Donnel invited this year? ![]() Edited after speech: Never mind

I thought it was pretty cool that they started playing the music over Adrien Brody's speech and he told them to hold off, he wasn't finished. Great speech. I also wanted to add that Chris Cooper was good as well from earlier in the evening.

Steve Martin is one of the funniest men alive. I consider him, and his movies, to be the peak of satirical humor. And he does it without needing to be vulgar.
Not that I ming vulgarity, Carlin, Pryor, all those folks are terrific. I just find it noteable that he can pull it off without vulgarity. Cosby is another of these noteables. Richard Pryor is probably the funniest stand-up ever. Martin is very versatile, and great in anything. Carlin is, well, Carlin.

I'm curious. What did Streisand and Brody speak about at their acceptance speech?
