True. I also recommend you look at 13th century Korean poetry (excellent) and traditional Korean musical instruments, such as the stone bells.
Korean cultural history is quite fascinating.

And yes, they are often beautiful.

Wishful thinking.
The best the NK could do is sink a carrier group with a large nuclear weapon.
But it still wouldn't stop the march of events.
Gurdur, you're just being pessimistic.

Do you have a link Gurdur that I can study?

It is my understanding that some of the best copies of Buddhist scriptures where printed in what is now the DPRK.

Important note: China *may* help us in a war against NK, if certain conditions were met. This is a *may*, because it is known that China does NOT want either Korea to have any nukes, would like a united Korea, and isn't too happy with Kim Jong Il. However, I rate this as highly unlikely, since they do seem to pretty much hate us as well.

Sorry, I do not have a link at hand. I will look for links tomorrow.

Many, many years ago, I trekked through Japan, following the trail as best as I could of Bash the 16th century Japanese poet and travel writer.
I visited a great many Buddhist temples, and one Shinto temple.
I had a great many Japanese friends.
It was in this period that I studied Korean musicology and poetry history as well, though unfortunately I never got around to visiting Korea.

I have a great foible for the gardens of Buddhist temples.

Heh, and currently the Empire is even having a very hard time setting up a pro-US, puppet dictatorship in Iraq. If they ever accomplish that, they will invade Iran and Syria next - the Empire wants complete colonial control of the Middle East.

Victory to all peoples threatened with invasion or occupied by the American jackboot!
You need to get a dose of reality.

While I agree that a ground invasion would be difficult due to the terrain you are utterly wrong about the fleet. The only way you could have any hope of getting a kill against our ships is by nuclear weapon delivered by ballistic missile. Even that would be iffy as the warhead must pass through several miles of the SM2 envelope before getting close enough. Ballistic missiles don't dodge and they would know what was coming--there would be a LOT of missiles fired against it.

Actually, Loren, the only "reality" regarding this matter is that there will not be any US invasion of the DPRK. The American government is only using these threats as a smoke screen - to get the world's minds off of America's colonization of the Middle East. The next American invasion will be Iran. Count on it.
