I am quite confident that such a law does not exist in the Torah...

Bumped for Magus55's consideration.

Who seems to be noticably absent. Perhaps he's busy actually performing my little challenge.

Well, one can hope.

(My Biblical arguments for evolution and natural selection...)

Good idea. Even His Eddianness finds this argument interesting.

Thus, the evolution of horse ancestors since the Eocene could be expressed as

Hyracotherium begot Orohippus, which begot Epihippus, which begot Mesohippus, which begot Miohippus, which begot Parahippus, which begot Merychippus, which begot Dinohippus, which begot Equus, the living and recent equines -- horses, donkeys, zebras, and quaggas.

This is from the talkorigins horse-evolution page, and it omits the numerous extinct branches of the equine family tree.

What about ... the Water system of evaporation and condensation
Since I am a hydrologist, I must reply to this one. I assume you're talking about:
Quote:
Ecc 1:7 - All the rivers run into the sea; yet the sea is not full; unto the place from whence the rivers come, thither they return again.
This doesn't explain the hydrologic cycle at all. It only suggests that a cycle exists. It says absolutely NOTHING about "evaporation and condensation". Given the obvious observation that the seas don't fill it doesn't take God-like wisdom to infer that somehow the water finds its way back. The tricky part is figuring out the HOW. It's the HOW that took thousands of years, not the observation or the inference. And it is the HOW that is totally absent from the bible.

Edited to add:
Quote:
Isa 55:10 - For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
Note the part in bold. It says that water does NOT return to the sky. So much for explaining evaporation and condensation. This is especially gross considering that Isa 55:10 is often quoted in SUPPORT of the "scientific bible" (see here for an example).

Wink God and his talking lightning bolts

I know a few people have pointed this out, but the twisting of that Job verse is pricless.

Take a verse which says we mere mortals can't do something (control lightning/electricity), which also has an implict implication that it's something we'll never be able to do (we couldn't possibly ever do something god can, right?) and turn it into a 'prediction' of something we invent!

See you stupid atheists! The Bible is the 100%, God breathed Truth, with NO errors! Praise be to God, Hail Jesus!

[/Fundy Off]

I do have to wonder why they settled on the telephone though. If memory serves correct, weren't we communicating by radio long before the phone? What about Morse signalling? Hell, semaphore operators may well have used electric lights before radio was invented!

I guess most fundies don't know what semaphore is!

Magus:
And you still haven't explained how 3000 years ago they knew of Orion and Pleiades since they weren't named or even noticed until thousands of years later. [and other claims]

Where does the Bible say anything like that? I have no idea what you mean.

Feeling sympathetic to Magus55 so I'll give him a hint on the challenge by mageth...

Look up the Hebrew words Kimah and Kesil and
see what you find.

Isn't it when you make a comparison without using like or as?

That’s a simile.

Umm, a simile is when one makes a comparison using "like" or "as".
