Default Where else in the world ...

... would over a million people queue quietly (ish) in the freezing cold for 4.5 hours to hear a black american talk about not killing muslims but England?

Awesome sight, fantastic turnout, great speeches, I just wish I could have been there myself.

To put the whole thing in perspective on the same day football teams all over England were competing for quarter final places in the FA Cup which is to us equivalent to the Superbowl!

Southampton (my local team) won 2-0 btw.

Nope. But I'd take him over Michael Foot any day.

Nah, the pics on TV looked supremely excellent. Organisers say 2m, police say 750k. Split the difference, that's over 1.3m people marching peacefully through London - and not a health nor safety problem in sight! I wonder if Tessa Jowell caught the news today?

And the big news of the day was clearly the FA Cup. Sunderland must be wishing they'd gone on the march instead...

Red Ken was on form wasn't he! He even got in a jibe about traffic congestion (or rather the lack of it on the day), what a class act!

I don't like JJ very much, I find him too sanctimonious.

I was listening to a radio call in show this morning and the pro war host said "that as you watch the news of all the protest keep in mind that 70% of Americans favor going to war". Of course he did not break that down.

The vast majority of those polled favor giving the inspectors at least 3 more months.

A clear majority favored going to war only when we had UN and allied support similar to the first invasion in '91.

To say that 70% favor war is false and misleading. But what do you expect from the pro war right?
