Elvis has been spotted way more after he died than when he was alive. If you go to Vegas, Elvis can perform wedding cermonies too.. haha snort

Jebus has only been spotted in cinnamon buns and tree trunks.

He did forgive people in his normal self (remember David?). He had to abolish the old laws (the ones that orthodox Jews still cling to) in order to set us free, because the law just condemns. It is just all part of His plan to save His children (all 6 billion people on earth) from the jaws of hell (where there would be weeping and gnashing of teeth), but some people just choose to condemn themselves.
I'll have to admit that I had to stop and figure out if this was the Shrub doing all that or God. Abolishing all the old laws, etc. Of course, nothing says that GWB doesn't picture himself as a new avatar of Jesus come to rid the world of (the axis) of evil.

cheers,
Michael

Impressive, but you're not a Jedi yet!

Here's an idea. Try applying that same level of
research and critical thinking to the Gospel
story. There are plenty of articles in the II
library here for you to read. Start with these
questions:

- When were the Gospels written?
- Who wrote them?
- Are they all independent?
- Are they eye witness accounts?
- Are there any contradictions in the passion
narrative?
- What similarities are there between Christianity
and ancient pagan mythologies?
- What similarites are there between the story
of Jesus' life and other prophets of the OT?
- What pattern do you notice about the post-
ressurection appearance claims about Jesus when
they are listed in the order of Gospel authorship?
(Mark, Mathew, Luke, John)

Ummm...excuse me, but I already addressed this prior to your post:

Quote:
ME: So no matter how you slice it (Man or God) no one can say Jesus suffered anything remotely comparable to what the average Joe goes through, even if you try to heap on the stupidity of Jesus' "bearing the weight of all our sins" (as I've heard tried before), since that is nothing but meaningless symbolism.

Jesus didn't actually bear all of our sins, since that's not possible. Beyond the obvious ("sins" aren't tangible objects), the theology is that he payed for our sins, so there is no way to claim he suffered from the "weight" of our sins other than in a completely meaningless, poetic sense.

Just one of Jeffrey Dahmer's victims suffered immeasurably more than did Jesus.
It isn't possible to literally "put all people's sins on your shoulders."

That's poetry; symbolism that has no actual meaning.

I know you're only 18, but THINK DAMN YOU, THINK!
