If there is one of these already, just let me know. Was just looking at Amie's thread of describing yourself and someone noted a lot of infidels were teachers, so I was just curious what the infidels jobs are? Or if you are a student, what are you studying? Or do you change jobs? Or, if you could have any job in the world, what would it be?
As for me, I'm a student going into speech-language pathology, but I'm not sure what I want to DO. I want to work with kids, but not in schools. Maybe w/ cleft-palate babies. This is on my list of dream jobs, but I would also LOVE to work with animals. |

I'm a Payroll and Benefits Administrator for a local 300 employee company. A couple months ago I passed the test to become a Certified Payroll Professional. I like dealing with employees and helping them out. I could do without the actual accounting bits.
My degree is actually in Art History. I thought about going back to school to pursue that more, in hopes of museum work, but it didn't work out and I'm actually quite happy in my career right now. I've been with my employer for over 14 years (since high school) and in my position for 7, but only in the past year did I push myself to excel and learn more, making it more of a career exploration than just a job I had fallen into. I'm glad I did that, it feels good.

I'm just someone's mum at the moment. I do have occassional casual work here and there, but nothing right now.
In February, when our college year starts, I'll be going to school to do a 3 year computer degree. My heart is with the arts, but I'm not talented enough to actually BE an artist. Technology is cool, though; so I'm happy to learn more in that direction. |

I am a teacher during the school year (I teach biology), primarily sophomores...
However since I am a R.N I work in an emergency room during the summer and some weekends/vacation days during the school year. Before I got into teaching I was a paramedic as well as working my nursing job. I was saving money to buy a house so I was working as much as I could... Now I am 31 and I am interested in getting into a PhD program so we'll see where that takes me... |

Right now my job is getting myself a job.
My quaintest job ever was probably free lance illustrating and designing greetingcards. Amie, lieverd, how about designing flavours of icecream for Ben & Jerry's?

I always thought it would be kind of cool to work at See's candy or any other candy store where I would be exposed to chocolate on a daily basis. My first job was hot dog on a stick and one of my friends who worked there with me when we were teens owns a candystore. I missed my calling. Is anyone here a pharmacist? |

Licensed Social Worker in child welfare. Have worked for the state for over 19 years now.
In the past: Governmental Affairs exec for the Chamber of Commerce and Probation Officer for adult felons. Plus, had many non-professional jobs before and during all those college years. (Went to college later in life than most - - after divorcing the father of my six kids. Lunachick: "Just a mom" is not just an occupation, it is a total life experience requiring more skills than all the other jobs combined.) |
