Default Amazon

I'm beginning to hate Amazon as badly as I hate Microsoft. Does anyone else have problems with this outfit?

What type of problems are you having?

I use Amazon all the time and I've been pleased with their service.

Of course, I live in a town with no good bookstores so I'm just happy that there's at least one place where I can buy whatever book I want.

Hi Grad

Thanks for the reply. I'm just an uneducated old guy who is venting his frustrations and having trouble working his way into the modern world.

What is your field of study? I supose that being a graduate student means that you are now engaged in research at a fairly high level. My very best wishes to you in your endeavors.

As for my complaint, forget it, I wish I hadn't posted it.

I use Amazon a good bit, though I don't purchase from them all that often. That said, I've never really had any problems with them. It seems that your beef with them might not be technical or customer service related, but more along the lines of a company that does as it pleases (thinking of the Microsoft analogy). Care to elaborate?

Buy.com beats Amazon pricewise (books, at least) and has free shipping with no minimum ($25 at Amazon). For used books half.com is good, as is Amazon's own used books system (both are intermediaries, the seller is someone else).

I'm getting my PhD in American literature and creative writing. I also teach composition and fiction writing.

I have bought a lot of stuff through Amazon. Sometimes they are easy and everything goes so simply; and sometimes it is internet hell.

I think we can add to the list of Microsoft & Amazon, Dell Computers! Completion of the true "axis of evil".

Grad

The ability to express oneself coherently to others is ,I think, the most valuable attribute that one could have.

Speak to me not of Dell. My one experience with them has established that I will never have another.

The Evil is not limited to just the Dell Machine. It is far supassed by Dell's "Award Winning Customer (not) Service". As my brother described it this morning, it is like going to talk jail.

Hello dear Admiral
Is this about the huggyjesus?

I use Amazon as well and am pleased however I do have a friend that boycotted due to some problems.

I would like to add AOL to that list along with Microsoft and Dell
