Ok, I'll do it. The thread will be titled,

"Evolution News Flash!"

Incidently, if anyone sees an article they would like to post here, they can do it, or email me and i'll do it.

Sentinel00-damn! That site is taken. Oh well, I do have a web site but it's not finished yet. Perhaps I'll do that someday.

Coragyps - I'm working on it (my thesis that is.) Honestly I am !

three4jump - Did you mean this article? "Space 'bugs' to test alien microbe theory"? The link you gave me just took me to the home page. Yeah, archaebacteria are a big source for evolution, i think. So are biofilms--bacteria will often form little "microcommunities" and become basically a multicellular organism. If you know anything about biofilms, it's not hard to imagine how multicellular life emerged from single-celled organisms.

Thanks everyone!

Scigirl,

I pretty much have an empty homepage at UGA. If you want to, we could collaborate on a paperlist and put it up.

I recomend that everyone reads the following paper. It is some very fantastic work by Ken Ross. Its really cool to hear him talk about it. (Hint: If possible, invite him to speak at your school.)

Thumbs up

SciGirl,

(I'll post here so as to not clutter up your News Flash post.) I just read your first installment. Definitely a good idea, especially useful for those of us who aren't scientifically-minded in general. Thanks!

An excellent one (thanks to Kevin): <a href="http://evol.allenpress.com/evolonline/?request=index-html" target="_blank">International Journal of Organic Evolution</a> (Actually, it appears to have only two volumes online, so isn't that useful after all. )

Here's an excellent list of related free journals on the web, which includes most of the ones I've previously listed and a heck of a lot more: <a href="http://www.iah.bbsrc.ac.uk/virus/Journals/Journals.htm" target="_blank">http://www.iah.bbsrc.ac.uk/virus/Journals/Journals.htm</a>

It's better than you think, Code Mason, since each volume has several issues! There's a cool article about the whole evo-cre in schools debate in the current issue.
