I made the mistake of actually scrutinizing the claims of the faith, the "Harmony of the Scriptures", the history of the church. Wish I'd done that before seminary and pastoring.

It's a tribute to the innate gullibility of our species and the overwhelming appeal of magical thinking that such a pack of fairy tales, farce, fabrication and falsehood is accepted uncritically and often with great personal sacrifice by morons and Mensa members, day in and day out.
