Just a suggestion.
And that's supposed to accomplish something besides sound good?

Insurgencies like this are because someone wants it to happen. I strongly suspect China is behind it.

Not a good time to visit Nepal. The US gov doesn't give a shit so much because Nepal is a poor country. The best way they (the US gov) can use the situation to their advantage is to let the "Maoists" get powerful so they can bring back red scare tactics as justification for future imperialistic forays.
I heard a professor from So Cal being interviewed on CBC this evening he reiterated many of the things in the article and pointed out that Bush doesn't want to see china's influence in the region to increase. This professor saw it as quite likely that the US would get involved.

From what I have read, the Nepalese disliked the current king, and his son (the next king) is a drunkard (not a sin in my book) who ran over a royal subject with his SUV and walked free without punishment (which is a sin).

Um, I think the theory is that somebody else killed them, then made it look like a suicide.

Can you imagine what Nepal would be like if the Maoists won? Mass starvation. Nepal is desperately poor to begin with. Communists have never brought anything to a nation except death, disease, repression, starvation, and denial of human rights
Some argue that there never has been a communist state.

Well if there never has, then there never can be a communist state. Plenty of people have tried plenty hard. But less face it, if you need the proletariat to begin a "real" communist revolution then you are running out of time to find a country with enough people employed in the manufacturing sector to make it viable. Communists are a dying breed. The people who would have 50 years ago been communists are today becoming ... environmentalists.

So to all you maoists, commies etc - why not get on the green bandwagon.

Of course Nepal was the only country Britain was unsuccessful at colonizing. The British were so impressed with the fighting of the Nepalese they made an agreement to get the Nepalese to fight as mercenaries for them. That was 200 years ago and the British still have Ghurkas.

So Nepal might literally be the last nation on earth that the US should attempt to invade.

The communist forces in Nepal have been for several yrs waging a war against the corrupt monarchy. Hopefully the bougeois will be defeated and then the people will no longer be ruled a handfull of rich people.

Long live the revolution

Yeah, Mao was so rich that he wore the same kind of clothes every day. A true sign of a rich money loving person there.

Communist revolutions are about exchanging one group in charge for another. The average man isn't helped.

So? True riches are measured in power. Mao had lots of that.
