theyeti/Albion,
I concede that the DI and the rest of these buffoons bring out the conspiracy theorist in me, but I can't help thinking how much more mileage Meyer and Co. figured they could get out of this thing by generating that massive .pdf file about the series rather than appearing on it themselves. |

Interesting info about the producers of "Unlocking the Mystery of Life"
A "whois" on illustramedia.com (producers of the video) returns the following:
Registrant: Discovery Media Productions (ILLUSTRAMEDIA-DOM) PO Box 2711 La Habra, CA 90632-2711 US Domain Name: ILLUSTRAMEDIA.COM Administrative Contact, Technical Contact: Discovery Media Productions (20335406O) j.harned@GTE.NET PO Box 2711 La Habra, CA 90632-2711 US 562-943-0914 fax: 562-943-0914 A quickie google search zeroes on the DIscovery Media Productions web-site at (surprise) www.discoverymedia.org. A quick peek at www.discoverymedia.org will give you an unvarnished look at the "Unlocking..." producers' true agenda. A visit to Illustra Media's web-site (www.illustramedia.com) shows that Illustra's sole product is the "Unlocking..." video. Interestingly enough, you'll find nary a link to www.discoverymedia.org anywhere on the Illustra Media web-site. Illustra media appears to be nothing more than a shell organization for use in the religious right's "stealth" campaign against evolution. |

Oh, well, so much for this all being science and not an attempt to introduce the Christian God into the classroom (I see the video is being offered for sale to schools as well as to the PBS stations). Really, do they think people are totally stupid?

i actually know the guy who's responsible for this video (my father went to the same church school he teaches at). he insisted on sending me the video, and, believe it or not, i watched it (in torturous agony, i can assure you). he asked me what i thought of it, i told him i'd refrain from commenting so as not to offend him, but i said that if i were a christian i'd be absolutely humiliated by the whole ID "movement" in general, and this anti-science tape specifically. never really heard back from him after that.
