I seem to remember a bunch of Talking Heads hits. Off the top of my head -

Take Me To The River
Once In A Lifetime
Burning Down The House
And She Was
The Lady Don't Mind
Wild Wild Life
Road To Nowhere
Girlfriend Is Better
Love For Sale

Maybe not #1 hits but I believe they all charted.

Oh crap. Now I have Wild Wild Life in my head. "I know that's the way you like it - Wo Ho - Living wild, wild life."

Steeler's Wheel wrote the song "Stuck in the middle with you" and was promptly never heard from again.

I forget the name of the girl but she sang "Two of Hearts" in the 80's. It was a megahit and then apparently the laws of gravity ceased to apply to her and she flew off the face of the planet.

The Cardigans-"Love Me" (I think that was the name of the song).

The Kings of One Hit Wonders were Wild Cherry. They wrote the greatest party song ever-"Play That Funky Music White Boy".
Nobody tops them in this department. I don't think they ever had another song even enter the charts, but they're still making money from it and I know for sure that at least one of the members was able to retire due to the success of the song.

The worst of all one hit wonders was Vanila Ice. "Ice Ice Baby". His only other song to ever get any air play coincidentally enough was a horrendous cover of-what else but Wild Cherry's "Play that funky music". The bastard.

Steeler's Wheel was fronted by Gerry Rafferty, who had a hits with "Baker Street" and "Right Down the Line".

I used to play trivia on-line with Rafferty.

I like the Buggles with their classic Retro hit Video Killed the Radio Star. it's off of their The Age of Plastic album, which I enjoyed quite a bit. Few other people are aware of the other stuff they created (I think mainly because their music was kind of strange). They made another album titled Adventures in Modern Recording and it wasn't too bad.

I'm not really big on Music history, but I think they went on to become Yes, which were a very prolific group that had some good songs like Owner of a Lonely Heart and Changes.

Hmm, for me it is difficult even to remember one hit wonders. Has anyone mentioned Kriss-Kross with "Jump, jump"? I was first year in high-school when it was a hit here and they dressed the wrong side out, I had done that, too, trying to attract attention to those who were sitting immediately next to me, and of course hoping that I will remain unnoticed by the teacher, when she called me at the blackboard to examine me on the homework or sth. It was quite a confusing situation because I didn't intend to become a clown in front of the whole class, only to some of my closer friends. Well, that is why I remember this song. And also, there was in the middle of the 1990s a hit by an afro-am boy group, called MN8, but I can't remember the name.
And of course, we shouldn't miss last year's blockbuster "Asereje" by Las Ketchup. Their concert in Sofia lasted less than 20 minutes and they sang only four songs. I don't think that they will make another hit, but time can prove me wrong.
The Lighthouse Family with "High" is another one, and I liked it, but I think it is not their only song in the charts.
And of course, we shouldn't forget Dana International - "Viva la Diva!"
