I got a friend of mine from 'real life' interested in the IIDB. She told me that she's been lurking here for a few months but hasn't got quite the nerve yet to come in and get involved. She usually lurks in science/skepticism, political discussions, and misc. religion. She told me that she likes christ-on-a-stick's posts the most.

I'm trying to get her to 'de-lurk' and join in on the fun.

She would like a user name that has something to do with linguistics, but I can't seem to think of anything novel (...any suggestions?) Overall, she's a smart, friendly girl who's a pleasure to get to know.

Anyways, come on in Tina.

Don't worry we don't bite, except maybe for Radorth.

Yes Tina, by all means de-lurk and join the fun. The more the merrier and all that. Besides, we need as many Alberta infidels in here as we can get. Why? I'm not sure.

As for a user name. Hmmm...Linguisto-chick? Language Girl? Phoneme Woman?

Just a note, if she's lurking w/out a username, she won't be able to see this thread - non member's can't view the lounge! hmm, maybe some incentive to join?

You really need to tell us more about her likes and dislikes before we can suggest a good username, even if we know she likes linguistics.
