I'm sorry twisted, but your arguments just don't hold water. You're missing the very obvious point that informing the public does virtually nothing but cause fear, stress, and cover the governments ass. I worked with these folks who became the Transportation Security Administration for years. The crisis management team got reports and warnings all the time, as did the airports and other relevent officials, depending on the nature of the threat. No grandstanding needed, no "go out and buy duct tape" required.

I do think that the reorganization of intelligence and security is a good thing, but poorly concieved and hastily carried out. And what hurts that the most is Tom dumbass Ridge leading it.

But, the discussion must be worded carefully to include the executives and politicians who fucked up and continue to fuck up and to exclude the ground troops.

I'm totally with you on that -as a VFW myself we should understand who is just doing a job to feed their family and who is doing a job to get super rich and powerful and kill everything about the "American Dream" in the process. I especially like your "grill them until their ass is raw" idea but they might find that kind of sick.
