I don't usually like starting polls, but this is something I'm really curious about. Lately I've been getting into this conversation with people and they are always shocked when I tell them I was 14. To me, that doesn't seem too young. But this isn't just a poll, it's also a discussion about the repercussions of age as it relates to sex.
What is too young? Do you wish you had waited longer? |

14 also. And I was too young (not negating the possibility that someone might be 14 and emotionally mature enough -- I just wasn't.)

In regards to the OP, I may have been a bit too young, allthough I don't have any regrets. I think that if I had waited awhile longer it wouldn't have changed very much.
I think it was also to my advantage that it was with a good friend, rather then a girlfriend or something like that. We are still friends to this day(6 years later), and not mad at each other or not talking, which is often the case with young people who date. |

I think my early entrance into the world of sex helped me be a little less inhibited with future partners...
I can't say it was a good thing or a bad thing - other than the fact I can actually enjoy myself without much reservation ![]() -k |

It happened to me wayyyyyy past 18. But when it did happen, it was wonderful and I had no regrets. Whereas I probably would have had regrets if it happened to me when I was much younger.
Also, I was told that I was extremely good for a beginner, too. ![]() |

I was 18; I voted 18+ instead of 16-18 since either would've worked, and I was on the high end.
I regret having sex at that time with that person. It was aweful and traumatic. I cried after I lost my virginity. But do i think i was too young? not ready? no. I wish i'd've lost my virginity to the guy I dated when i was 16 and skipped that other guy alltogether. ugh. We talked about it, but the whole guilt/gawd/parents/hell/etc. thing kept me from doing it. Too bad. rr |
