I chose Outback but my wife and I usually prefer a local place called Timbers. Very good food in a log cabin/Adirondack style atmosphere.

Actually, my dad cooks the steak. But goddamn, is it good!

While I love the Outback for their Bloomin' Onions (as well as the steaks), I had to go with RoadHouse! I love peanuts, and being able to just throw the shells on the floor is an added bonus! Also, it's one place we can take our son, and we don't have to worry what kind of a mess he makes (he's 2).

My favorite steak is generally the one I cook for myself.

My pan-seared cajun filet or ribeye is probably the top shelf. I really need a better hood in my kitchen, though...more often than not the toasting of the blackening spices is usually enough to set of the smoke alarm. I'll make the same steak without the seasonings too. I don't grill steaks, because for the last several years the only grill I've owned has been a gas grill and frankly it didn't get hot enough to cook a steak properly.

In Nashville, the best steak I've had is at a place called the Mad Platter. To die for.

Finally, the best steak I've had out is at a very nice place in Chicago called Magnums (IIRC). The name is indicative of the absolutely obscene portion sizes, and the meat was well aged, tender and flavorful. Its been a few years, but I believe that I had the ribeye there.
