Dan Barker's Resurrection-Events Challenge.

Try to create an account of Jesus Christ's resurrection that is consistent with all the NT's descriptions of it.

Seriously, I can't stand being followed around and trolled, could ya just kinda go away, you have negative Karma.
Negative Karma indeed, as opposed to having your god "spit out the lukewarm", i.e. people who a) believe He exists and b) aren't stupid enough to think they know exactly what He wants. Somehow I think that not even God Himself could convince fundies that anything they think is false.

Whoever said God was a Christian?

My gripe with liberal Christians, and Christian Atheists is what they still get to all themselves "Christians", don't have the social stigma of being an atheist, get to have their tax-free pot luck dinners and social groups, and, of course, don't have to think too hard either. "God told me it was OK to be this way" "The bible is just a guide-book". There needs to be a stricter membership requirement to get in the club. Let's kick the procrastinators off our census forms and then see what % of Americans happen to be Christian... my bet is it would be down to 10% or so.

Liberal Xians are in some respects freethinkers. They question the really absurd things about their traditional religion and they tend to think things through to a much greater extent than other Xians. For whatever reasons of their own, they never are able to give up god and/or religion completely. Perhaps they need the tradition or they think of god as a metaphor. I don't personally see a major problem with that.

I consider liberal Xians my allies and I have a lot of respect for the ones I have met in person.
Hi southernhybrid
I really admired the post you wrote here. I wish many were as tolerant as you. Unfortunately thats not the case around here in my opinion.
Take care~

Hi Seanie
Only God knows what was truly inspired and what was not
He loves us all, don't ya think my friend? I don't think God will be spitting any of us out...

Sean let me ask you, we have been friends for a long time. Here is my thing. I can not find any continuity between a loving forgiving God and a God who would eternally torture his "children" for all eternity simply because we utilized the free will that he gave us in the first place.
I don't really believe in hell, although I should cuz thats probably where I am headed
My question for you is how do you feel about the issue between loving and forgiving and then punishing for an eternity. An eternity is an awfully long time. Lets say there really is a hell, No matter what it seems whatever people do to get there, the punishment would not fit the crime. ETERNAL TORTURE?! Is that really necessary?
I think we'll all be forgiven and in the end, all together...

Hi Amie, long time no see, where ya been hiding?

Well in order to answer your questions it would take some considerable scripture and study of context.

I would recommend speaking with your priest for answers, and then speak to a fundamentalist pastor, and see what you can derive, both will teach you about hell, whether it's hellfire or eternal seperation, it is REAL.

But how have you been? Are you ok?

It must be those capital letters that make it REAL.
Other than that theres no proof at all and it sounds just like a scare tactic used by the creators of the religion to scare you into believing it.

Bold trumps capital letters. I win.
