I make them listen to their Suzuki violin tapes , or, if I'm sick of those I put my own music on They generally are ok with music; they often read in the car anyway (they're both avid readers and don't get carsick reading, fortunately) and then they don't much care as long as it's music rather than a radio program which is talking.

Good.

There is a hefty fine for going against THE CODE.

Anyone interested in buying an Interactive Barney and a very large collection of Barney videos, including "Barney Live at Radio City Music Hall"?
Forget that, I'll pay YOU to take them.

It's live from Las Vegas circa 1965, I think.

Funny think is that I have no idea where this CD came from. My daughter said she found it in the bottom of my closet.
She came running out of her room and said, "Mom, listen to this music! It's great!"

We're going out later this week to find her more Frank Sinatra music.
You're daughter is just the coolest thing ever, Annabel. I don't know how much you're planning on spending on Franis Albert, but if you don't mind coughing up a bit, check out The Reprise Collection. It's a 4 cd collection of his Reprise Records hits, including jaw-dropping live tracks backed up by the likes of Count Basie (during the Quincy Jones years). Best Frank collection ever.

You musta missed the episode of South Park where 8615 people show up for their "orientation" to Hell. They start asking questions like,
"I was a fundamentalist Christian my whole life - I should be in Heaven!"
Chris the Hell Guy "Uh, no."
Next: "I was a practicing Jehovah's Witness"
Chris: "Again, no. You chose the wrong religion."
"Well who is in Heaven?" they ask
Chris: "Mormon was the correct answer, people. That's right, Mormon. Now if you'll all step this way..."

Cool, I think I may.
Maybe by encouraging her interest in Frank, she'll completely skip over the Britney Spears stage.
YES!

The CD we do have is Frank Sinatra at the Sands with Count Basie.

I love you
You love me
We're a hap-py fam-i-ly

And a kiss from me to you
Won't you say you love me, too.

That's going to be in my head all freakin' day now.

Luckily, Zoe also liked the Violent Femmes. Now that she's 9 she's a huge Pink fan.

Oh, P.S. - as far as TV goes, it's things like Dragonball Z, Yu-Gi-Oh, Smallville, Sabrina, Charmed - that kinda thing.
