In the interests of "piling on", I sent this to my very conservative representative:

Army chaplain offers baptisms, baths
BY MEG LAUGHLIN
mlaughlin@herald.com

CAMP BUSHMASTER, Iraq - In this dry desert world near Najaf, where the Army V Corps combat support system sprawls across miles of scabrous dust, there's an oasis of sorts: a 500-gallon pool of pristine, cool water.
It belongs to Army chaplain Josh Llano of Houston, who sees the water shortage, which has kept thousands of filthy soldiers from bathing for weeks, as an opportunity.
''It's simple. They want water. I have it, as long as they agree to get baptized,'' he said.

(end of Internet story)

This story was in the Miami Herald online

http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald...aq/5554317.htm

If this is true, I find it absolutely outrageous. At a time that some of our troops are complaining about not having access to enough drinking water, Josh Llano is holding 500 gallons of water hostage!?

Could you find out if this is really true? If it is, what steps are being taken to remedy this situation?

Just for reference, a "500 gallon pool" isn't really a pool, it is more like a bathtub. A tub that is 3 feet deep, 7 feet long, and just over 3 feet wide would hold 500 gallons.

I'm mentioning it just in case people are envisioning something like a typical backyard above-ground swimming pool.

But I fired off my letter to the chief chaplain yesterday too, and I'm planning on writing to my congresswoman and senators too.

Only the Jew-on-a-stick religion, as far as I know, uses such despicable tactics.

Hi Unbeliever - I don't think Christians are unique in using bribes. After all, Islam promises ecstatic sex to those who die for the cause.
