He was one of my favorite posters. Sheesh.

Come back, ye of the Kent Hovind avatar! We need thee!
... It was May last year when I did my first sign up on the Atheist Network Message Board. After my Introduction, I made a Science Topic Thread about Dinosaurs and Man. The person called "Franc" responded by saying "Is this Kent Hovind?" I had to Post in response: "Who is Kent Hovind?"

... Later I heard some of Kent Hovind's Debate with the Infidalguy "Riggy". But I never really knew what he looked like.

... After "Scarlatti was mentioned here last week, I went to see who he was and seen his Avatar. So from what I have seen, my question is to be certian: "Is this really a picture of him? (Kent Hovind?)."

I doubt it, I think he didn't even know about it until I told him in #infidelchat <the completely unaffiliated IRC/Java room>, and even then, he didn't seem terribly interested in reading the last mother of a thread.

Just tell him to jump in at the end and let us know what happened.

Well it's all guesswork, but having now been banned, the interest level might have changed.

Message From D. Scarlatti

Dearly beloved.

Thank you all for your extremely kind words of concern and support. They are deeply touching and I have been deeply touched. I have been touched in many places, including several places that I would prefer not to have been touched.

I am tremendously sad to confirm that, yes indeed, I have been suspended from Christian Forums. My understanding is I have been suspended by dint of the fact I received three warnings from blindfaith. For obvious reasons I am unable to confirm if in fact I did receive three, or two, or even one warning from blindfaith, nor what those purported warnings were for.

I do not know who blindfaith is. I had never heard of blindfaith prior to his name appearing ominously on my computer screen. But I am here to tell you that blindfaith is a wonderful person. blindfaith is a beautiful human being, a lover of animals, an excellent cook, and an exceptionally evenhanded moderator. Although I do not know why I was suspended, I am certain I deserved it.

My dear friends, I would have replied to your kind entreaties sooner, but I was out of town getting fitted for the hair shirt (which is optional with the suspension, but I thought it was the right thing to do, because that's the kind of guy I am).

Oddly enough, my final post at Christian Forums was to tell someone that I loved him, in response to his suggestion that I change my handle to "ignorant atheist." You see, I was really coming along, and the Christian love that I was often shown was just beginning to take hold. And I am really sorry about the poem I wrote to my great admirer KeysforChrist, which I hope no one reads, to which end I will not reveal its location, except to say it's Post # 55 in a thread called "Hollywierd" [sic] in the Philosophy & Morality forum.

So once again, thank you all, even seebs.

And of course thank you especially, Annabel Lee, for passing this message along. I am sorry about the condition of this paper. Needless to say I wept as I composed this, and those are my tears.

Keep the faith, I love you all,
D. Scarlatti

P.S. if anyone gets the opportunity, please smack that little prick Aaron11 one time for me.

P.P.S. Hazy Rigby, are you married?

Yes, I am married. But trust me, you wouldn't want me anyway. I have been told sarcastically by at least one wolf that I'm heartless. Other wolves have remained neutral on the subject, preferring to plunder my garbage and awaken me with their eerie howls as retribution. We await the opinions of klingons, green monsters, and seebs to make the final determination on the subject.

But nevertheless, that avatar will haunt me forever...so hurry up and join the Infidels so we can talk to ya, for goodness' sake!
