to use something God created for the wrong purpose would be considered immoral in a Godly sense of the word koy.

Did god make trees so that we could make paper?
Did god make wind so that we could make kites?
Is there only one way to use any one thing in the world?
How do you know god didn't create magic mushrooms and marijuana to be ingested by humans?
What if WE create it (i.e. LSD)?
What about any medical drug or anesthetic used in hospitals?
But most importantly, does god exist? (Don't answer that)

i think it depends on your intent, ie. what you intend to do while on these drugs / why you intend to take them.

if you just want to experiment with different states of mind, without harming yourself or anyone else, i see no problem. if you take them because you're addicting, or because you have to, etc., then there's a problem.

i beleive in experimenting and trying things for yourself before passing judgement.

Is being addicted to a drug in itself really immoral? Assuming you commit no crimes against others, but waste much effort and expense in pursuit of said drug, is that really immoral?

so why, anna, is it immoral to be an addict?
Morality is subjective.

From my POV, it is immoral to become an addict because you are not only causing a damage to your body but also to society. An addict is still part of a society and someone has to pay the consequences of a human who cannot contribute anymore to increase the wealth of society.

Anything that deteriorates your health and causes problems to people who had nothing to do with your addiction is immoral.

It's fine for you to believe that, as long as you also recognize that it's my right to use my body as I see fit, whether or not you consider it immoral and that it's not your right to force me to conform to your moral code. My use of marijuana harms nobody but myself, neither does my use of tobacco or alcohol.

I think this is close, but it's not quite all the way there. By this reasoning as stated, driving cars must be immoral - auto wrecks kill tens of thousands yearly, many many more injured and ruined, and the disruption and loss is surely bad for society.

Tobacco has been shown to harm those nearby, so this statement isn't actually true. Marijuana also harms those nearby if smoked.
