From hot and sticky Brit-land.....
Short potted bio - dropped into freethought about 4 years ago after thrashing around in xtianity for longer than I care to admit..... Amazing how quickly the old brain clears isn't it! Please see my website for the whole gory tale but it needs updating.... See you soon but have to hit the sack right now. |

Hi Ranter! Glad you could make it.
As it happens I sort of know Ranter, and can attest he is a fine gentleman indeed. And as he says, he was deeply entrenched in the religious thing, but finally made it to our side of the theological divide. Next time we have a UK Infidels Gathering, you are more than welcome to join us. Martin |

Mind you it was at that darker blue place.... Better organise another one soon... Mind you I'm busy fighting the "Battle of the Bulge" with the Atkins diet - doing the job but my head doesn't half ache and my breath.... |

Nice to have you here, ranter! Welcome!
So, Nadine is your step-daughter, then? Beautiful girl! How do she and Sue feel about your loss of/lack of religion? Is it an issue? Look around and enjoy the II during your stay! |

We had a strange evening last January when one of Sue's old work friends invited us to a "Burns night" supper - not bad meal although my digestive tract didn't agree and I had to go to the doc's twice the following week. Alas Sue's friend has married a super-fundie who works full time for "Jews for Jesus" and we were the token "non-Christians" to be invited for the evening and given the treatment. Sue, who had a vague idea what we were in for, had made me promise to say nothing controversial. What was funny was all the self-important jargon that was actually supposed to go over my head and didn't. If there is one thing I like better about me, it's not looking down my nose at people who "don't understand they're not spiritual" and to see other people do it to me when in fact they're wrong was almost funny. |
