That's funny, that's what the vet said when we took her in to be spayed. I can see more husky in her face than Shiba, definitely. Shiba Inus have scrunched up faces and little eyes.

Sasha sure has plenty of energy, she'd love to be on the go all day, which from what I understand is true of both Shepherds and Huskies. Do you find this to be true in the case of your lovely Sled Dog Aurora?

Sometimes I wonder what we've gotten ourselves into, and wish I would have looked for a nice bassett hound/pug mix instead (no offense to anyone with an energetic bassett or pug, but most of the ones I've known have been happy to sleep the day away).

I just gotta attach another picture....

Maybe she is Shiba Inu, I couldn't tell from the first pic how tiny she was...of course Huskies come in a mini version called Alaskan Klee kai

Aurora is fairly low energy for a Husky (meaning she doesn't devise elaborate escape plans involving rooftops, or run full speed away from yu as if you were a musher), probably due to her life as a stray she wants to take it a bit easy now...but I have a couch potato dog as well (Max), and prefer the higher energy dogs. They keep me from being a couch potato! I have to take them to the dog park, and fill in the holes they dug, and take them hiking etc....if I had just Max I wouldn't be motiviated.

Massively cute dog, that Frodo. Make sure you get a collar with 'the one ring' on it. Just melts ya with the eyes.

I know, I'm the same way. I like having a walking buddy. Plus I'm counting on her to get me in shape for swimsuit season.

Here's one of our dog and our daughter, I'll leave it up to you to decide which is which.
What have you wired your daughter up to?

Hey thanks for the compliments, I'll pass them along to Frodo!

I loved seeing the others dogs (and children). Someone had asked what my pup was like. Well, he acts alot like a baby. He's to short to get on the couch or the bed himself, so he'll whine (in an endearing way, not an annoying way) when he wants to cuddle with us on the bed or couch. If I'm sitting in the floor, he'll sneak over and nip my hands or feet, his way of saying "Stop whatever you're doing and play with me!"

We try not to leave him home alone, but when we have to, he stays behind the couch chewing on his toys and sleeping. When we open the door, he barks his little puppy bark (the only time he ever barks, actually), then, when he sees that it is my or my wife, he starts whining until one of us picks him up and licks/nips/paws our face until we're covered in puppy love .

We tried crate training him, and letting him sleep in his crate at night, but I snuck him into bed with us on the third night. When my wife felt him snuggling up to her, she just sighed and went back to sleep. Now he sleeps with us every night. When it's time to potty, he'll whine until I help him down, then he'll whine after he's finished, so I help him back up.

He tried jumping off the bed once, and, before we could stop him, he sailed off and hit his head on the ground. After the crying, he started chasing his tail, and was ok again. He really is a great dog. I would recommend the breed to anyone, especially those with a small living area, like us.

Curses! I knew I used the wrong picture.

I've been found out, my daughter is actually animatronic. I ordered her from the good folks at Disney. Those imagineers can work miracles.

In truth, she's on an apnea monitor. The leads are sensors attached to her chest via a belt. The purpose of the monitor is apparently to scare the crap out of first time parents in the middle of the night.

I know them well, my first two were born 2 months early and had them on at the hospital, damn things went off every few minutes and I soon became a nervous wreck. I would never even consider having them at home.
