I just got a chance to look at this website "100 things evolutionists hate". Like many others, my brain hurts. I am fairly new to this forum and the more I read and research the more astounded I am at how incredibly stupid people can be. I really don't like calling people stupid but man....if the shoe fits!!

I don't even know what else to say. I'm just glad that there are other people (us) out there that take the time to do the research and learn for themselves.

*sigh* Beautiful irony...

In fact, many brilliant people, in all of the sciences do not accept the theory of Evolution.
There are no brilliant people who accept creationism in favor of evolution. There are brilliant people who do not accept evolution, but no one in their damn right mind would accept creationism. But then again, Christians aren't in the right mind.

The Bible says: "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." It says that he did it in Six Days. It tells us many other details which can be lined up against facts found in nature to test whether the account could really be true.
Not to mention that 99% of the details can be refuted, of course.

Sorry to get off-topic here, but it's always fun to see what these evolution-bashing Christian sites have to say elsewhere on their website.

Default 17: Irreducible complexity

17: Irreducible Complexity
Micheal Behe, a noted authority on Biochemistry points out the obvious evolutionary problems at the micro level. This is where change would have to occur in Darwinistic evolution. Many highly organized cells are actually 'micro-machines' which carry out sophisticated functions in the organism. At the time that Darwin wrote the Origin of the Species, in 1800's scientists did not have any knowledge of intracellular complexity. The problem of 'Irreducible Complexity' is that if you were to remove any one part (as you would have to be able to show that the end product was a result of incremental additions) the entire mechanism would breakdown and the result to the cell would be disadvantageous or even catastrophic to the organism. (for instance if your blood would no longer clot).
Can anyone give me some help with this one? I'm currently debating a creationist (by e-mail) and he's brought this point up (although he calls the author "Michael Behe" not "Micheal" )

Oh, incidentally --

I'm a graphic artist! But I do have a scientific education too so perhaps I'm atypical.

That's because it is 'Michael'. Graphic artists clearly do no more proofreading than they do research into what they put onto their visually lovely websites .

Ref Behe, try these two for starters. And watch this space: irreducible complexity has a habit of rearing its misguided head here quite often -- you could try a search of this forum if you’re feeling really masochistic .

Behe’s Empty Box

Do let us know if we can be of any help with your pet cretinist. Is he/she in the UK too? While I’ll happily stamp on it wherever, I’ll be delighted to assist in removing ignorance (or at least grinding it into the ground) here at home

Cheers, Oolon

Thanks Oolon, He's from the US and he seems more educated than most; I put a general "haha you guys are stupid" type post on a few creationist websites' guestbooks; I guess he got my e-mail address from one of these.

I seem to be coping quite well at the moment; it was just the Behe reference that I'd never heard of. And lo! I find the same author referenced on the "100 things..." list in the OP, so here looked like a good place to ask.

BTW Oolon, I'm guessing you know where your towel is

Yep. This site sums creationism up in a nutcase.

Well I'm a graphic artist who is not mentally challenged. Perhaps one day I will find the time to make an aesthetically pleasing anti-creationism site to counter these morons (and from the looks of that site, poor designers) who are giving graphic artists a bad name.
