In some cases maybe, but generally that is the case with people who believe that.

If the last few posts are anything to go by, we could all stop posting in this thread this very day, and Ed would keep it going for ANOTHER year, just picking an old post every half month or so.

Inevitable unless you overcome the desire to reject God by your will and God's help.

So, uhm, what have I learned?

It's a trip, ain't it? Here's you're PhD: You are, as of this writing, a Doctor of Absurdity. Please stand up and take a bow, and mind you don't stumble on the corspe of reason lying under Ed's chair.

Somebody needs to pick that up before it starts to smell, and perhaps rescue this thread in the process. I tried a while back, but......

Thank you, but I'll stick with what works.

Hello Von. Yes, some religions have put down science. But modern experimental science was INVENTED by Christians.

VE: Glad to see that others are heading in that direction. After all, extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

And believe me, I have never heard anyone seriously claim anything more incredible, extraordinary or downright insane as propsing the existence of a god.

When will this species grow up?

When will we atheists get our own homeland, to live in freedom from religion? Anyone know of a couple of hundred square miles of polder-able (look it up), international waters, and some very rich investors?
Actually the existence of God is the most rational claim for the cause of the universe.

As were the theologians who had opposed heliocentrism. They knew their Bibles and what the Bible stated about the motions of the planets. Which is more than can be said about Ed, who is remarkably good at selective quotation.

And do we have to believe in astrology and alchemy because Kepler believed in astrology and Newton believed in alchemy?

Does Ed reject the Trinity because Newton had done so?

Have Bacon and Newton and Boyle induced Ed to become an Anglican/Episcopalian? Has Kepler induced Ed to become a Lutheran? Have Copernicus and Galileo induced Ed to become a Catholic?

Actually the existence of God is the most rational claim for the cause of the universe.

Which god?
