I'd have also liked to see if any of his distinctive traits could be passed on, but the sod never bred.

He's apparently different enough that other Chimps don't tolerate him well, and he, through his long years of isolation, never learned to socialize well with other chimps. Don't blame him for his lack of enthusiasm for the lady apes.

Well, I'm not sure, but he was alive as of 2002. I can't find any reports of him having passed away. The show "Humanzee" that was on the other night didn't mention him being dead, not that I saw or heard anyway. I think he'd be about 46 years old now, though.

The last Cheetah(sp?) from Tarzan is still alive at 71, so 46 isn't that old.
