Actually, the "good" replies far outweighed the "bad". Good job.

Damn Christian children, you would think they would at least be praying at home to stop these killings. Thanks Susan Talana Harris for the best laugh in the paper! |

Congratulations, Stan - Well said. I aslo like the first letter on the page; from the Christian lady opposed to prayer in schools. She makes a lot more sense than the other Christians!
I also like... "...Instead of forcing the youth to feast on ideas of evolution and such..." Mmmmmmm.... Fossils....... |

I was also very impressed with Simon Pristoop's missive. You should do a little "prosyletizing" and get him to post on this site.

Good set of letters. The anti-prayer posts come across as reasoned and intelligent (IMO), while the pro-prayer posts are either wishful thinking or obvious idiocy. I liked the letter from Brad Clayton:
"I didn't realize that the objective of prayer was to insist on a public display. In fact, any student wishing to pray can do so silently all day long. Or does one feel better when one can demonstrate a 'holier than thou' position by making proclamations out loud? Is it all about show without substance?" Absolutely correct. The goal is not to allow students to pray, but to force those non-praying students to listen to god-talk in hopes that they'll be converted. |
