Default Need help: Brush-comb stuck to hair

My girlfriend just called me asking for help. She was crying and panicky and she just sounded confused and angry. She said that she had just gotten out of the bathroom an hour ago, after taking a bath, and was combing her hair with a round brush. She was playing around with her hair, rolling the brush through her thick, shoulder long hair, when it suddenly got stuck. She couldn't take it off, she said she tried wetting her hair and applying some conditioner on it to make it slippery to no avail. In desperation, she called me, a short haired guy on what to do.

I'm stumped and can't think of any advice to give to her. She said that if she can't take it off, she'd cut her hair, a bad idea I think. I said she should try wetting her hair for about thirty minutes with warm water, and just work her way at removing a few strands of hair from the comd at a time. If she calls again after trying my recommendation, and if that didn't work, what other way can I advise her on her predicament. Thanks.

I'm thinking getting some stronger scissors/clippers and carefully dismantling the brush might be a better solution. Assuming she's more fond of her hair than the brush, that is. Hair takes months to grow back while a new brush costs 99 cents and any convenience store.

She just SMS'ed me saying that my recommendation didn't work. She said she'll rest for a while and try to take it off again later. Any other recommendations?

A few suggestions:

Beauty Tip
Round brush stuck in your hair? Immediately stop pulling
on the brush and gently pick the hair free in tiny
sections with the pointed end of a comb. In the future,
style only small sections and keep your brush free of
sticky styling products.
Hope this helps.

Thanks, Mrs. Heathen. I just forwarded the tips to her. Wow, I didn't know that this problem would be so common as to have a how-to written about it. Why do women play around with their hair? Geez.

Same reason men play around with women's hair; it feels great, it's fun... and it's a bit sexy, too.

Heh, well now she knows it's no fun playing around with her hair using a round hair brush. BTW, she got it off a while back, almost 4 hours after getting it stuck. Which advice worked? The award goes to Undercurrent. She used pliers and removed the bristles until she was able to get the brush off.
