heh. I am actually going back in a few months and I am counting down the days but I always get severe jet lag. I need a remedy for that...
I am going to stay 2 weeks Mar!

Only two weeks? Two whole weeks. Ugh mixed emotions.

Looking forward to it BIG time lieverd. I'll be waiting at Schiphol, packing hugs and kisses with your name on them. And I'm sure we can find a way to make that jet-lag dissapear.

Okay... I'll translate for the others here...

What?
Oh you wanted a translation in English?

They'll be Umlauts, but i've probably spelled the word wrongly.

My problem isn't that i don't speak or write Dutch - i used to be getting close to fluency; rather it's that unfortunately that was about four years ago and i've had no practice since, hence i'm worse than rusty.

It helps reading through Infinity's posts to you.

Default Useful Dutch expressions...

Anyone met the Kankerhoeren?

I've used the retort "Krijg de pest!" on many an occasion.

Please add your favourites to aid my rehabilitation!

I lived in Holland for two years. Noorwijk-En-Zee. Not far from Leiden, Hugo.

I worked in De Zilk (Bakkers) during the winter; and did hair wraps and made jewellery for people in the streets of Leiden, Haarlem and Amsterdam during the summer. Made a small fortune doing that, too.

My daughter was born in Haarlem, but I returned to NZ when she was 5 months old.

I loved Holland. (Not in the winter, too much, though!) In spring and summer the fields around where I lived were so pretty. The dutch people were nice. The villages were gorgeous. And I loved getting around on my bike. Heh. I have a lot of stories from my time in Holland. I'd like to visit there again.
